“LIBERTY LET’S ROLL” TOUR TO REMEMBER THE ALAMO

Striking forth from Idaho with the passion and purpose embodied by the heroes of the Alamo, the eight-foot cast bronze sculpture, “Liberty let’s Roll!” will be exhibited next to this historical San Antonio mission.
This remarkable sculpture is a modified version of the Statue of Liberty employing a Kung-Fu-style kick . It’s title, “Liberty Let’s Roll!” was inspired by the challenge uttered by UA flight 93 passenger Todd Beamer on 9/11. The thought provoking form causes people to think about liberty and what it means to them personally. Ms. Deely states “We can either be a victim of circumstances or kick through the obstacles that prevent us from embracing the freedom to pursue our dreams”. In July 2008, ABC Television’s New York affiliate recorded the sailing of the 1000 pound sculpture around the Statue of Liberty as guest of the National Park Service – a goal many thought impossible.
This year The Liberty Tour has scheduled stops along the West Coast before arriving in Texas. The sculptor is available to talk about the inspiration behind the work. People are invited to take part in the “Liberty Booth” where their thoughts about freedom are recorded on video. Selections from this will be included in an upcoming documentary and inclusion in Ms. Deely’s book, Anatomy of A Dream.
Due to the enthusiastic response of the 2008 tour where it was invited onto various military posts, art galleries, public libraries and national parks, Deely is motivated to share the message with more people. Liberty’s 2009 tour includes La Jolla Cove in the San Diego area on June 13th .

About Gayle Chapman
Well known and respected throughout the Pacific Northwest music community, Gayle's first brush with notoriety came in 1978, when she became the third member of Prince's now legendary first band, playing keyboards and singing back-up. Gayle worked for Prince until 1980. Since 1987, she has lived in Boise Idaho and has taught many students the art and science of voice training and development. As a performing songwriter, her music is bluesy, rhythmic and melodic, and her lyrics are focused and poignantly emotive as she locks in on matters of the heart. Gayle started an acoustic duo called Black Diamond with Jan Skurzynski in 1989. They produced one CD, "Black Diamond - Change of Direction" and toured to promote themselves. They stopped working together full time in 1996. That CD is still for sale. She has performed as a solo artist since 1996, and has joined forces with some of the great Boise musicians on her present CD project "Gayle Chapman". "Gayle Chapman" is a CD of her own compositions, and a couple favorites of hers written by friends. As a performer, she will leave a musical impact on you that will have you moving in your seat and wondering what else she has in store. Gayle just wants you to leave smiling.

About Joe Lopez

Joe Lopez, a native Idahoan, is an outsider artist in the photographic world. Born in Boise, he began moving to various states with his parents at an early age, and went on to serve three years in the United States Army Infantry at Ft. Benning, GA. Lopez returned to Boise with his wife to raise their five children. Photography came to Lopez quite unexpectedly in January of 2007. Equipped with a little Sony Cybershot, he quickly grew weary of not knowing how to fully take advantage of what it could do. Experimentations followed that included shooting images of the moon using a tripod and auto settings. The result was extreme overexposed photos that led to research where he began discovering basic photo techniques. This work inspired personal creative explorations of processes that finally produced crisp, clear images. From that day on Lopez awakened to an intrinsic love of the photographic medium providing a vehicle for a passionate translation of his unique vision of the world through a camera lens.
